Password change, reset and synchronization requests account for up to 30 percent of end-user requests to outsourced IT support operations. Using Password Courier, Unisys will provide secure, self-service solutions that enable customers to solve these password problems without needing to resort to telephone based support.

Through the agreement, Unisys will deliver lower cost support, improved service quality and enhanced security to its corporate customers by providing automated password management services for Windows NT, Novell, Mainframes, Unix, SAP and more directly from users' desktops, via the Web or Interactive Voice Response (IVR).

Unisys will distribute, deploy and/or host and manage Password Courier as part of an overall help desk solution.

"Unisys is continually looking to enhance the portfolio of best-of-breed solutions offered to our customers," said Mary Ann Zaborowski, director, Worldwide Help Desk Services, Unisys Global Network Services. "A key way to do this is to deliver enhanced service quality and security while reducing overall support costs. We feel Courion's Password Courier technology will significantly enhance Unisys capabilities in automated user management and security. By automating password resets and changes, we can focus our help desk staff on complex user issues and deliver higher service levels to our customers."
Unisys professional services, offered in conjunction with Password Courier, are integral to this support offering. In the future, Unisys plans to provide auto ticket logging and closure for cohesive end-to-end service management, regardless of support access and resolution methods.

Additionally, Password Courier's automated intrusion alerts provide immediate notification of Unisys personnel and the customer's internal security staff as to any security breaches or problems.

"Password resets consistently account for one of the highest volumes of support requests," said Chris Zannetos, Courion's president and CEO. "This issue is magnified for outsourcers dealing with numerous corporate help desks and differing security policies. Courion's technology, combined with Unisys leading services capabilities, provides one of the best solutions in the industry for customers looking to outsource help desk and user administration services, while reducing overall support costs and increasing enterprise security."
