As organizations of all sizes including enterprises, government agencies, educational centers and healthcare organizations embrace the concept of employee mobility, IT managers are challenged with supporting mobile users. Trust Digital's Remote Smartphone Assist delivers a powerful set of capabilities to helpdesk personnel including a web-based, real-time view, of what the mobile end-user sees -- right as it happens -- including stylus and keyboard input. Remote Smartphone Assist improves IT and helpdesk efficiency - while lowering costs - because the need to unnecessarily box and ship devices back to the helpdesk has been eliminated. With a simple click of the mouse, helpdesk personnel can access and control the file system, registry, processes, phone metrics, and networking details. To protect the mobile user's privacy, the Remote Smartphone Assist client permits remote access of the device only after the end-user has granted permission by responding to a pop-up warning. The Trust Digital solution also offloads many corrective tasks, for example in the event a user loses a smartphone or PDA they can have IT remotely wipe the device from the Trust Digital Enterprise Console or they can remotely wipe the device via the Trust Digital Self-Service Portal. For other competing solutions, once this action to wipe a device has been done it creates orphaned SD cards that cannot be read since the encryption key was stored on the lost device. But with the advanced key management capabilities of Smartphone Security V7.6, IT is able to recover data from the orphaned SD card via the Trust Digital Self-Service Portal or the Trust Digital Enterprise Console. Smartphone Security V7.6 also enables users to share encrypted SD cards between their laptop PC and smartphone. Users can decrypt data on the SD card by plugging the card into their laptop and logging into the Trust Digital Self-Service Portal via a web browser. The Trust Digital Enterprise Console and Self-Service Portal gives IT, security and helpdesk teams the tools they need to effectively support and manage their mobile users. The new features of Smartphone Security V7.6 enhance existing capabilities including over the air (OTA) provisioning and reporting for compliance, usage and assets. The Self-Service Portal streamlines device management by automating setup tasks and aiding smartphone users with day-to-day tasks such as recovery of forgotten passwords. More complex user issues such as device decommissioning can be addressed OTA by the integrated help desk capabilities of the Enterprise Console including remote interactive diagnostics, remote wipe, remote unlock and a complete suite of status reports.
