Existing GoldMine HEAT customers may take advantage of this new offering by adding Infrastructure for Workgroups functionality to their core HEAT product, and current GoldMine asset management customers will have the opportunity to receive a free license swap into the Peregrine Systems asset management solution. "We're delighted to welcome to the Peregrine Systems family Goldmine Software Corp., whom we believe has the best and most successful distribution channel for small to mid-sized businesses," said Steve Gardner, president and CEO of Peregrine Systems. "With our combined product offerings and our unique expertise in various market spaces, we can now offer high quality, integrated solutions to all customers from the smallest organization to the largest enterprise." GoldMine will continue to sell Peregrine Systems recently acquired Knowlix Knowledge Management solutions, which include iKnow(tm), iKnow Author(tm), iKnowBuilder(tm) and iKnowWeb(tm). Through the successful Knowlix product line, GoldMine and Peregrine already have more than 200 joint customers. The reseller agreement also covers Peregrine Systems InfraTools Desktop Discovery and InfraTools Remote Control. The product line evolved from the popular GoldMine contact manager, designed for workgroups and providing data synchronization on multiple servers. The company was originally Goldmine Software Corporation. Software Corp., leading provider of mid-range Internal Help Desk and CRM solutions, today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Peregrine Systems(R) Inc., leading provider of Enterprise Infrastructure Management software and e-Infrastructure solutions, that grants GoldMine worldwide master value-added reseller (VAR) status for a number of Peregrine Systems products to be sold in concert with GoldMine's HEAT(R) help desk software See help desk., sales force automation software, and CRM solutions. The alliance includes joint marketing between GoldMine and Peregrine Systems and permits GoldMine's more than 2,000 VAR partners, certified on HEAT, to resell Peregrine Systems products. As part of the agreement, Peregrine Systems will acquire a minority interest in GoldMine, based on a GoldMine market valuation of approximately $800 million. GoldMine has long been recognized as a leader in the CRM market segment, and as a leader in the internal help desk market through its Bendata merger. Today's agreement reinforces GoldMine's continued commitment to the internal help desk segment, according to Vance Brown, president and CEO of GoldMine Software Corp. "By taking what analysts and end-users have rated as the best help desk product in the mid-market, HEAT, and adding Peregrine Systems world-class asset management and knowledge management solutions, which are part of its InfraCenter for Workgroups, we can now package a best-of-breed IT infrastructure offering that has never before been available to small to mid-sized companies," said Brown. "We are delighted to be part of the Peregrine Systems family, who we have long believed to have the best solutions and strategy for the Enterprise market segment." Under terms of the VAR agreement, GoldMine will immediately distribute a subset of Peregrine Systems InfraCenter for Workgroups, focused on the benefit of both asset management and knowledge management. GoldMine also will soon integrate HEAT with Peregrine Systems Infrastructure Management solution that manages IT assets through their entire lifecycle. Combining GoldMine's HEAT software and Peregrine Systems asset management software makes for a robust and comprehensive help desk and infrastructure management solution.
